Γειά σου! (Hello!)

Welcome to the Pylos Painting Project interactive site!

This project site aims to virtually map the painted fragments of wall plaster at The Palace of Nestor (c. 1600-1200 BCE) in Pylos, Greece.

Navigation can be found at left where individual items (fragments) are divided into eight distinct collections: Human Figures (H), Animals (C), Nature (N), Architecture (A), Friezes (F), Borders and Beams (B), Dadoes (D), and Miscellaneous (M).

The fragments are also color-coded by collection in the interactive Neatline map: Human Figures (red), Animals (orange), Nature (green), Architecture (blue), Friezes (purple), Borders and Beams (cyan), Dadoes (pink), and Miscellaneous (yellow).

Please click the link "Neatline Map" at left to begin exploring!
